Services Overview

Online Therapy for Over-Thinking, People-Pleasing, and Self-Doubting Women in Virginia

Provider Identification & Licensure

I’m Arien, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Virginia providing online therapy for women and teens (16+) experiencing anxiety, burnout, relationship stress, trauma, identity concerns, and self-worth challenges. Services are private pay, with some insurance accepted (currently Anthem, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, and United).

Primary Fit Anchor

I provide therapy for anxious, burnt-out women who overthink everything, struggle to say no, and feel stuck in people-pleasing, self-doubt, and unhealthy family, friend, or romantic relationship patterns. They are often working through trauma, identity questions, relationship challenges, or life transitions.

Many clients come in feeling emotionally exhausted from trying to meet expectations, manage relationships, and make sense of repeating emotional patterns. Therapy becomes a space to slow down, understand those patterns, and build a more grounded sense of self.

Who This Work Is a Good Fit For

This work is often a good fit for people who want therapy that is both emotionally attuned and practically grounded, and who are interested in understanding the experiences that have shaped their view of themselves and the world. Online therapy can be a helpful fit for clients who want consistent support from the comfort and privacy of their own space.

You may be a strong fit for this work if you:

  • overthink conversations and decisions long after they happen
  • struggle to say no or feel responsible for other people’s emotions
  • feel anxious in relationships or fear being ‘too much’ or ‘not enough’
  • often end up in unhealthy or emotionally confusing relationships
  • are navigating your identity or a major life transition
  • feel burnt out from constantly trying to meet expectations
  • intellectualize your emotions but still feel stuck in the same patterns
  • want deeper insight, healthier boundaries, and more self-trust

Many clients reach out after thinking about therapy for a long time. They are tired of living in their head and are ready for deeper conversations that translate into lasting changes in their relationships, boundaries, and self-trust This work tends to resonate most with clients who are emotionally aware but feel stuck in patterns that insight alone hasn’t changed.

Therapeutic Approach & Style

My approach is warm, relational, emotionally attuned, and collaborative. Therapy with me is a space to slow down, understand patterns, process difficult emotions, and build healthier ways of relating to yourself and others.

I balance insight-oriented work with practical support for boundaries, self-worth, communication, coping skills, and emotional regulation. I often work from a trauma-informed and attachment-focused perspective, helping clients better understand the experiences that shaped how they see themselves, relationships, and the world around them.

I also offer EMDR therapy for clients working through traumatic experiences, deeply rooted negative beliefs, attachment wounds, or patterns that continue to feel emotionally stuck despite insight and self-awareness.

In therapy, we may explore:

  • Long-standing ways of relating to yourself and others
  • Internal pressure, perfectionism, or people-pleasing patterns
  • Emotional regulation and nervous system responses
  • The impact of past experiences on present stress

I adapt my approach to the person in front of me, but my work consistently centers on insight, emotional awareness, and sustainable change over time.

Credentials & Experience

I have 15+ years of experience working with women navigating anxiety, burnout, trauma, relationship stress, identity exploration, self-esteem concerns, and major life transitions. My work is informed by trauma-informed, relational, and attachment-focused approaches.

When This May Not Be the Best Fit

This may not be the best fit if you are under the age of 16, are very conservative or religious, are court-ordered to participate in therapy, or are looking for a quick fix, lots of homework, answers to be given to you, or crisis-level support.

My approach tends to work best for clients who are open to reflection, emotional exploration, and understanding long-standing patterns over time.

EMDR Therapy

I also offer EMDR therapy for clients working through traumatic experiences, deeply rooted negative beliefs, attachment wounds, or patterns that feel emotionally stuck despite insight and self-awareness.

Strong Match Indicators

This work is often a strong fit for clients who are emotionally insightful, motivated for self-understanding, and ready to explore long-standing emotional or relational patterns.

Clients who tend to connect well with my approach are often looking for therapy that feels both emotionally supportive and practically grounded, not just a place to vent, but a space to better understand themselves and create meaningful change. My work focuses not just on insight, but on helping clients translate that insight into lasting changes in how they relate to themselves and others.
